As 2015 is now ending and we approach the new year, I reflect back at 2015 and all of the powerful and wonderful work that was done and the new connections and friendships made during this year. Before we can even begin this though the beginning of 2015 started rough from the week long fight to save the life of our brother Phil Africa to his untimely mysterious passing in the prison infirmary. The world suffered a tremendous loss but Phil lives on forever in our hearts and his example will never be forgotten we all love you forever, Phil. Despite all of this, we have not let up in our fight against the Pennsylvania Parole Board and exposing the unjust parole denials of Move Political prisoners.
I just wanted to take the time to acknowledge some special people for all the good in them and for the tremendous work that they do. I'm talking about my sister Mona Africa and my brother and sister Illy and Margie who have been architects with this justice and accountability campaign and are two of the hardest workers I have ever met me and the family really appreciate the two of you. People like Ann Lamb who sends out all our emails and is always there to lend a helping hand. To Johnnie Stevens who was a tremendous help going into the 30th anniversary of the Move bombing this year and beyond. We wanted to take the time to all the radio show hosts that hosted us this past year and gave us a platform to discuss the issue of parole as it relates to the Move 9 and other political prisoners. Just too many people to name but there are some special people that we want to name who always without fail shares our information and is always there to help us people like Alina Dollat, Freda Willis, Cindy Lou, Clarissa Rogers, Patrice Armastead, and so many others but we wanted to say thank you to all of the people who have supported this campaign who has called the parole board on the Move 9's behalf this campaign would not have gone this far without you and your help.
We wanted to send a special thank you and shout out to our web administrator who does a wonderful job with our website and who helps us in whatever way she can. Shout out to our friends in the NYC coalition to free Mumia Abu Jamal, Philly Coalition for Real Justice, Shandre Delaney, Esperanza Martel, Joe and Betsy Piette, Berta Joube Ceci, Kamua Bectemba, our crew in Baltimore, DC, California, France and beyond- the Move 9 appreciates all of you. We still have work to do. Let's keep at it to save the life of Mumia Abu Jamal; Let's work to bring Lorenzo Cat Johnson home, Support the Dallas Six Solitary confinement on trial. Let's work to free Russell Maroon Shoatz.
Several political prisoners are being held up by these parole boards who are working in conjunction
with these police unions so we still have work to do y'all.
Also we are urging people to sign the petition urging the us justice department to investigate the case of The Move 9 (see link at top of page). 2016 will be a very busy year as we prepare for the upcoming parole hearings for Janet, Janine, and Debbie Africa while we still await Eddie Africa's long over due parole hearing.
You all are very much loved and appreciated keep up the good work and thank you for all your support in this fight; believe me when I say we are winning.
